In the UK at the moment, the e-cigarette market is growing at a very impressive pace. Some people think this is due to the many different flavoured liquids available, and to be perfectly honest, I believe they’re probably right. Just think about it; are you more likely to enjoy smoking when cigarettes taste of tobacco or cookie dough? Catch my drift? Still, many people are finding them to be a great way of kicking the habit, due to the varying levels of nicotine available in the liquids.
It’s not just the general public who’ve taken to e-cigarettes like ducks to water, not by a longshot, even some celebrities have been snapped outside using their devices. This is helping to cement the technology and make it acceptable to all, which is a good thing really. So, you probably want to know who’s jumped on the bandwagon, right? Well then, take a minute to read through the rest of this post, and I’ll tell you!
This lady caused some controversy recently when she decided to openly use her e-cigarette on a hit US chat show presented by David Letterman. The following day her face was all over international celebrity gossip mags, and as a result of this, there were more devices sold in America over the following days and weeks than ever before.
Ever the bad girl, Kate Moss has been spotted in numerous bars from London to New York puffing away on her favorite brand of electronic cigarette liquid and has also made headlines in her own right. Though she may receive some sort of payment from the manufacturers for doing so (knowing her track record for such deals), she gave an interview recently claiming she thought they were the best invention since mascara.
As this man openly admits to having a rather serious addiction to cocaine, you might be forgiven for thinking that cigarette smoke would be the least of his concerns. Even so, Charlie Sheen has been snapped by paparazzi on numerous occasions over the last 12 months with his KangerTech Protank, so obviously he’s making an effort to cut down on traditional cigarettes.
During the filming of his latest blockbuster and Disney film The Lone Ranger, many different interviewers saw Depp puffing away on his e-cigarette in between the answers he gave. One even went on film asking his about his smoking habit, to which Depp answered “what smoking habit? This is vapour”.
Famous for his roles in the hit films Titanic, Gangs of New York and Catch Me If You Can, Leo DiCaprio is certainly not shy when it comes to reporters and photographers. Over the last 12 months, he’s been caught with his e-cigarette more than 6 times whilst waiting for cameras to be set up and questions to be asked. Although it seems no-one has confronted him on the issue, it’s pretty safe to assume he’s a big fan of vaping.
So there you have it. That isn’t even a definitive list, as many others use them too, but it should give you some idea about the calibre of people who’re using e-cigarettes on a daily basis as we approach the end of 2013.
I wonder what next year has in store?
