As a rule of thumb, and possibly an obvious one as a filmmaker, if you aren’t making films you really are either planning for the next one or you are not moving forward and progressing. In the filmmaking industry, if you are not moving forward you are going to get left behind. That being said, it is extremely important to sit down, think and plan out how you are actually going to execute your next film. You also need to think about what you are going to do in between that, your relationships with other filmmakers and bettering your style and technique.
On top of all of these responsibilities, you are responsible and expected to share your videos and creations with as much of an audience that you can gather. With all of this it can become a bit overwhelming, so here are some pointers to help you on your way to filmmaking success.
Don’t let some of these tips or pointers act as any kind of deterrent to you becoming a success in the industry. It is just something you should be realistic about, but positive at the same time. Have fun with what you are passionate about and what you are working towards creating as a profession. Start to really share your projects and movies with those around you, and start building networks and do your research as it all pays off eventually.
